Accommodations

All participants will be responsible for their own lodging and transportation to the event. The recommended hotel for the events is the Comfort Inn Bastrop. It's located in the retail district of Bastrop just off State Highway 71, and is within easy walking distance to a Walgreens, a Radio Shack, a Super Walmart, and many restaurants. The local supermarket chain, HEB, is just on the other side of the state highway. Bastrop State Park is a couple miles away, so you will still want a car to get around.

Comfort Inn Bastrop
106 Hasler Blvd, Bastrop, TX 78602
512-321-3303

Rate: $71.99/night for non-smoking rooms with either two queen-size beds or one king-size bed for the dates of May 8 - May 11.

You must call the hotel directly to get the group rate. Either request the group name "ARDF", or use the following confirmation numbers for the room type you'd like:

2 queen size beds #187389
1 king size bed #187397

Other hotels to stay at in Bastrop include the Holiday Inn Express right next door to the Comfort Inn, a Days Inn, a Super 8, and the very expensive Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, west of Bastrop. For those interested in camping, Buescher State Park (about 10 miles down the road) has camp sites, and the Lower Colorado River Authority has camping at South Shore Park at Lake Bastrop. Camp site reservations go fast, so book early.
